The Amherst County Sheriff�s Office is a full service law enforcement agency responsible for covering approximately 470 square miles of the most majestic landscape in Virginia. To serve the county�s diverse population of approximately 35,000, the Sheriff�s Office employees a team of 80 employees who are assigned to Field Operations, Investigations, Crime Prevention, or Corrections.
