The Field Operations Division is made up of three patrol shifts of uniformed personnel that operate twenty-four (24) hours a day seven (7) days a week. A total of 42 sworn personnel (1- Lieutenant, 3- Sergeants, 3- Corporals, and 35 officers) are allocated to the Field Operations Division. Each shift is supervised by a Sergeant. The Lieutenant of Field Operations is responsible for the direct supervision of the shift sergeants and the overall operation and activities of the Division. The Field Operations Division is responsible for the following functional areas: All general patrol coverage and activities; Response to all calls; Motor vehicle crash investigation and reconstruction; Traffic control, direction and enforcement; Parking enforcement; Major and special events; Narcotics K-9 function; and unusual and emergency operations. The Field Operations Division is responsible for the initial investigation of all reported crimes and documenting the offense through complete and detailed reports, and investigation of some offenses as assigned. The Lieutenant of Field Operations reports directly to the Captain.
