  • Allegheny County Police Department he Allegheny County Police Department was established in 1932 by an act of the Board of Commissioners. The emphasis was to "be of service to the residents of Allegheny County and the many visitors who pass through the county each year." The mission of the County Police is to enhance the public esteem for law enforcement by investigating all criminal activity which occurs on county-owned property, while providing assistance to local police departments and criminal justice agencies. Comprised of more than 240 officers and 50 civilians, our uniformed officers patrol the regional parks including North and South Park, Pittsburgh International Airport, and the County Airport.
