The Waterville Police Department consists of fulltime professional law enforcement officers, command officers, detectives and patrol officers. All officers are graduates of The Ohio Basic Peace Officers Training Program with most possessing a college degree. All of the command staff are graduates of the Police Executive Leadership College sponsored by the Law Enforcement Foundation / Ohio Association of Chiefs Of Police. All officers continually receive in-service training from The Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy, The Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy, and other Federal / State agencies, making them one of the highest trained police departments in Northwest Ohio.
