The department consists of 39 officers, the Chief, and a secretary. There are also 4 lieutenants, 5 sergeants, 4 detectives and 25 police officers. The Town Board sits as the Board of Police Commissioners which is the governing body of the Police Department. An enhanced 911 emergency telephone system allows officers to respond within minutes to any call.
