The goal of the West Yellowstone Police Department is to work closely with local residents to prevent and solve crime. The Police Department is staffed by twelve people including the Police Chief, five Police Officers, five dispatchers, and one dispatcher/animal control officer. The department provides law enforcement and protection for the Town of West Yellowstone seven days a week, twentyfour hours a day. The department also maintains its own Emergency 911 Center. This is a valuable asset of the department due to the distance between West Yellowstone and the rest of the municipalities in Gallatin County.
