Frontenac is located in southeast Kansas just adjacent to Pittsburg on US-69/57/160 Highways in Crawford County. Frontenac has a population of about 3,000. Residents of Frontenac enjoy a peaceful, safe environment with very little crime. Most of the crimes reported are property crimes.
The Frontenac Police Department has a staff of six full-time officers. All officers are certified law enforcement officer and have graduated from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center in Hutchinson, KS. It also employs a 24-hour dispatch consisting of three full-time and two part-time dispatchers. To assist the patrol officers, the police department invests in a very active reserve officer program. These ten volunteers put in many hours each month riding on patrol and assisting dispatchers.
