The Schererville Police Department is composed of employees who work under the direction of the Chief of Police. The Chief of Police is directly responsible to 5 Schererville Metropolitan Police Commissioners who are appointed for 3 year staggered terms by the 5 members of the Schererville Town Council. Of course, all of us work for the citizens of the Town of Schererville! The Department is divided into 2 Divisions, Operations and Investigations that are each directed by a Deputy Chief. Within these 2 Divisions are 9 Bureaus that are directed by supervisors of various ranks.
