On behalf of the nearly 250 men and women of the City of Greeley Police Department, welcome to our web site.
Community policing is our strategy for doing business at the Greeley Police Department. Much more than a slogan or a special unit, community policing involves neighborhood problem-solving by our personnel AND the people residing in our community. In October, 2006, the department received an award from the International Association of Chiefs of Police for its participation in Neighborhood Building Blocks, a city-wide program aimed at solving neighborhood quality of life problems with the help of the residents of those same neighborhoods. Working with Community Development and other parts of the city government, the department continues to tackle problems ranging from noisy vehicles to underage drinking to gang graffiti. The approach is working and will continue in the future.
