The mission of the Police Department is to improve the quality of life through a community partnership which promotes safety and security. It is our goal to reduce the rate of property and violent crimes against persons in our City. It is also our goal to build public trust and to work diligently to reduce crime and violence through community based policing strategies. The City of Eureka 9-1-1- Communications Center is responsible for answering and directing all 9-1-1 and emergency calls made within the City of Eureka. The Center provides dispatching services for the City Police and Fire Departments, Humboldt Fire Protection District #1, Blue Lake Fire District, and Samoa Peninsula Fire District.
