The Mission of the Burbank Police Department is to work in partnership with the community to acheive positive impacts on crime and traffic,and to provide professional police service in an ethical and courteous manner. To accomplish its mission, the department operates four major divisions: Patrol, Investigation, Administrative Services, and Special Operations. Pursuant to the direction of the City Council and the Department's master plan, the Police Department strives to maintain a ratio of 1.6 sworn officers for every 1,000 residents, as well as appropriate levels of civilian support personnel.
