Our mission is to protect and enhance the quality of life in our community by enforcing the law, preserving the peace, preventing crime, and providing educational information while still protecting the constitutional rights of those we serve. Your Sheriff�s Department is a full service department with approximately 122 employees. We operate and maintain two separate detention facilities, patrol the county roadways and area lakes, investigate crimes and provide court security. The department has a 15 member Tactical Response Team, 11 of which are certified open water divers, and a 4 member Crisis Negotiations Team. The department also has a Mounted Patrol with approximately 20 members who volunteer their time, horses and equipment for events such as the county fair, parades and searching for missing persons.
